If you don't know what Hermitcraft is, it's best described as a content creator's Minecraft SMP (that's a Server Multi-Player).
Everyone that plays on the Hermitcraft Server produces excellent Minecraft videos, each Hermit has their own style, in-jokes and preferred way to express themselves in game, and they all love to collaborate and prank each other.
There are close-friendships, story-lines, mega-builds, mini-games, and server-events that bring the Hermits (and their communities) together for various reasons, but most of the fun is in the little interactions between the different Hermits.
All the Hermits are friends with each other, even if they are currently engaged in a prank or civil war (as previous seasons have proved). So even if someone is laughing maniacally as they carpet bomb someone's base with ravagers, or plant creaking hearts for revenge, know that it is all light-hearted fun between friends looking to make the most fun content together.
This season is Skizz's second on the server and he is continuing his exploration of Psychology, by creating another Minecraft experience in the silly block game. This time it will probably be more of a ride, that tries to teach a little something about the concept of Psychologist Carl Jung's Shadow Work.
Jung believed that the mind was essentially three-fold. There is the Persona, the masks we wear around others, to hide our true self from harm. Then there is the Ego, which is our hopes and desires, in some ways our truer self. Then there is the Shadow...
The Shadow is where we accumulate the memories that we'd rather forget, the urges we'd rather not act on, the desires we'd rather not have, and the aspects of ourselves we'd rather not identify with. Because we avoid it, the Shadow makes it hard to see what is going on in the unconscious mind.
The Shadow also links to Jung's concept of the collective unconscious, a sort of common reservoir of archetypal responses, experiences, and understandings that are instinctually baked into our brains.
Jung believed that if you could confront and work with your own Shadow, to understand it, it could release your mental and creative blocks, and unleash the full power of your mind.
Skizz being a fan of the band Tool has already pointed out that Maynard's lyrics on the song Forty Six & Two are very clearly a direct exploration of these concepts. And he'll explain more about that connection as the season goes on.
Skizz has based near Impulse and Tango this season, mostly because the plan is that Skizz and Impulse are going to help Tango with the huge resource gathering tasks for the Deck Out 3 build. So expect a lot of streams of Skizz gathering resources, such as Wither Skulls, Ghast Tears, Long Stands and Short weights while Tango giggles.
Skizz has always loved a collaboration with other Hermits and seems determined to say yes to everything this season. He already said yes to joining Ren "Diggity" Dog and Mumbo in a little Trial Chamber adventure, where Mumbo and Ren discovered warcries are a little different when you are Skizz.
Who knows what shenanigans await on the Hermitcraft server with Season 11, but we can be pretty certain Skizz will be stood chuckling (or based on Episode 1 of most Hermit's season screaming and dying) in the background of a lot of it.
Back in Season 10 we had all sorts of shenanigans:
Skizzleman's main project for the season was a Minecraft experience based on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, which was a surprisingly moving and deep experience for many of the hermits that tried it out. It was also an absolute nightmare that nearly drove Tango mad again, and in the world download you will find lots of checkpoint beds throughout the pyramid.
Early on in the Season 10 Skizz and VintageBeef were recruited by Big Salmon to teach DocM77 a lesson. Not sure if Doc learned anything, other than how to make a large salmon statue and two hermits explode.
Skizz built his starter base in "Magical Mountain" the cherry tree biome mountain that he shares with GeminiTay, Grian, GoodTimesWithScar, MumboJumbo, SmallishBeans, and ImpulseSV.
Skizz, Beef, Joe Hills and Doc all formed the wood "co-operative" known as Big Wood, with Doc making the huge hourglass that remains one of the largest builds on the server (let alone in the shopping district).
Skizz streamed as part of the Gamers Outreach events. He auctioned off his personal drumsticks and some other items to help raise money for the charity.
Skizz was a member of the Permit Office Enforcement (POE-POE) with Scar, until the Permits and Permit Office were abandonned at the order of "His lawfulness" Judge BDubs.
Skizz successfully prosecuted a case in BDoubleO's Short Claims Court. Finding DocM guilty of murdering Cleo's pig, despite an excellent (if slightly unhinged) defence strategy from Docs lawyer Joe Hills, that attempted to abdicate all responsibilty. He built a legal office near the courtroom to promote his legal practice... Just don't ask about the interior...
Skizz is mostly focused during streams from Hermitcraft on having fun with the other Hermits. He has enjoyed playing the various mini-games that other hermits have created, most notably Impulse's "Touch Grass" and Tango's "Hungry Hermits" although he had some fun with Etho's Frogger-inspired "Ravager Rush" too, but the end of the season was all about Cub's "Ghastketball" and Dippledop's "Metro Mayhem" race course.
Skizz invited Martyn (IntheLittleWood) to attend the server world tour on September 20th, along with all the other guests, however Skizz being Skizz he forgot what time they were starting, which is why Etho introduces Martyn to the other Hermits in Martyn's VOD of the tour.
Yep that's right, there is a Hermitcraft Merch store, where you can buy... well Hermitcraft stuff. Check it out at shop.hermitcraft.com
